My family is originally from El Salvador. I was born in Los Angeles, California and we immigrated to Canada in the late 80s.
From a very young age I knew I wanted to become a criminal defence lawyer. I grew up in low-income housing in Ottawa and I always knew I wanted to fight for those that needed help the most. I obtained my Juris Doctor degree from University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2013 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014. I have practiced exclusively as a criminal defence lawyer and CAS defence lawyer since my call to the bar. I represent clients in English, French, and Spanish.
I am an experienced trial lawyer and a skilled strategist. Whether inside a courtroom or in negotiations outside of court, my mission is to get you the best possible results for your case.
I represent clients for all manner of criminal charges in the Ontario Court of Justice, The Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal. I also represent clients in Highway Traffic Act and Provincial Offences Act matters, as well as clients facing Ontario Review Board Hearings.
When representing parents involved with Children’s Aid Societies (CAS), I help parents understand their rights, navigate the complex legal system, and I represent them in negotiations with the CAS and in court. I am a former President and Vice-President of the Ottawa Child and Youth Family Service Act Defence Counsel Association (2017-2018).

Having a Children’s Aid Society involved with your family can be an extremely overwhelming and unimaginably difficult process. You do not have to go up against the powers of the CAS alone. My mission is to help parents know their rights and to be their voice and their defender in and out of court against the CAS agencies.
